At Sandhill Primary School every child matters. We believe that every child is entitled to the very best education we can offer. Working as a community, we prepare every child for each stage of education and the challenges of growing up through an excellent range of experiences.

At Sandhill Primary all children have access to a fun, interesting and engaging curriculum. Working around the framework of the National Curriculum, we aim to equip children with the skills they will need for their future learning journey. We place emphasis on literacy, numeracy, modern technologies and the knowledge of how to learn. The use of varied approaches enables children to develop independence, perseverance and enquiring minds.

Inside our bright new building you will find many positive features such as, a large multi-function hall used for PE, assemblies, concerts and lunches. All our children regularly visit the ICT suite and well-equipped library.

We are fortunate to have several communal areas to enable us to organise our curriculum to best meet the need of our children, who may be taught as a whole class within a small group or as individuals. ‘The Street’ is the hub of the school and at its best is teeming with bright enthusiastic youngsters pursuing independent learning activities.

Outside, the school grounds and surrounding areas are a particular feature. The open aspect to the rear of the school evokes a feeling of calm complementing the hive of activity to the front of the school where you will find multi use games courts and a developing wildlife environment.

Our foundation unit has a safe and purpose built play area allowing for free flow learning inside and out.
